Institutional and community support
Today's problems are not the responsibility of any one individual nor is there only one way to solve them. They are increasingly complex and interdependent. It is essential, therefore, that they be approached from a variety of viewpoints, and it is here that civilian society, through its organizations, is creating new spheres for participating in a shared, collective analysis that will encourage alliances, on the one hand, and, on the other, maximize the chances of reaching understandings between players that are sustainable over time. When everyone shares the responsibility, we automatically have a broader base from which to attend to and manage projects and cooperation agreements.
Inevitably there is a dispersion of efforts and information resulting from the large number of different individuals and organizations working in similar fields. This can be minimized, however, by devising mechanisms that would permit integrated action by the different players involved in a specific issue.

RedSOC - Venezuelan network of organizations involved in social development
Develop RedSOC as a space where participant organizations and other social players can link up with a view to producing actions that will reinforce the sustainable development of the country's human resources.
Specific Objectives
- To train RedSOC's member organizations in how to improve their negotiating skills and their ability to deal constructively with conflictive situations in the relations within and outside their organization.
- To train RedSOC's member organizations -by holding workshops on the prevention of drug use and abuse by children and young people, measuring rainfall, and disaster prevention for example- so that they are able to implement actions aimed at guaranteeing the quality of life in the event of disasters triggered by natural phenomena or technical failures and when faced with social problems.
- To contribute to identifying and setting up national or international social development networks, encouraging interconnectivity and the horizontal and vertical flow of information and cooperation.
- To provide information and technical assistance so that Development Organizations, both Venezuelan and international, can develop cooperation and work on RedSOC through sustainable human development programs.
- To disseminate the work of RedSOC and member organizations within Venezuela and internationally, by holding events and producing publications and a CD-ROM.
- To support RedSOC member organizations in their efforts to identify, compile and systematize research methodologies in order to be able to design and apply a database of the populations they serve.
Seminars on successful public health management experiences
To keep up a space for reflection and information with a view of modernizing management in public health institutions based on the exchange of successful experiences.
Specific Objectives
- To disseminate the implementation of innovative strategies in public health management.
- To facilitate the follow-up and evaluation of selected cases or experiences.
Volunteers Project at Hospital Vargas
To promote a work culture based on a shared vision, which raises the awareness regarding the quality of care being provided the user among management, administrative and teaching staff, and health specialists.
Specific Objectives
- To design, together with Hospital Vargas's management, the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, representatives of educational centers located in San José Parish, and Hospital Volunteers, a project that will make it possible to improve the overall quality of the care provided to users of the Hospital.
- To design and implement a program to recruit Volunteers for Hospital Vargas, and to select and train suitable candidates.
- To cooperate by putting the Information and User Service Modules into operation.
Network of cultural and recreational institutions in the Caracas Metropolitan Area
To improve and consolidate channels of communication and cooperation among institutions providing sociocultural services.
To bring about the establishment of legal mechanisms that will encourage institutions to search for alternative sources of funding.
