The Museum is located on the seafront, along the Bulevar El Paseo in the fishing village of Boca del Río on the Macanao Peninsula, Margarita Island, Nueva Esparta State, Venezuela. The view from its windows is of a wonderful seascape, an endless horizon with the outline of Cubagua Island at one end.

Alongside the village, the white boats of the impeccably maintained snapper-grouper fishing fleet, the largest of its kind in the Caribbean, can be seen gently rising and falling at anchor, one of the most attractive views that can be seen from the Museum.
