Pearl trawlnet
- These trawlnets are built using a rigid frame, generally of steel, and they are dragged behind the boat in pairs, one either side. They are used to catch mollusks such as the West Indian turkey wing (Arca zebra) or pearl oyster (Pinctada imbricata). This type of trawlnet is practically the same as the one that was used to catch pearl oysters for their pearls in the 16th century and that gradually replaced pearl diving.
