Cubagua
- This exhibition hall is given over to Cubagua Island. There are a number of interesting photographs showing the excavation work done by Professor José María Cruzent during the 40s and taken just as several pieces of considerable archeological importance and historic value were discovered, including the coat of arms of the Convent of San Francisco and several gothic style gargoyles. There are aerial photographs showing the ruins of the city of Nueva Cádiz as they are today, photographs of pearls showing their beautiful colors, and others of the tools used to process them. There is a map of Cubagua Island with the names of each and every one of the places along its coasts. The visitor can see an original Christmas card sent by Professor Cruzent in December 1956.
- Also on show is another series of photographs taken by Mr. Gonzalo Rodríguez del Villar, a professional diver who directed the search and rescue operations for the "San Pedro Alcántara", the ensign ship of Don Pablo Morillo, the Spanish general who was sent to Venezuela to put down the rebellion of the patriots seeking independence from Spain in 1815. The vessel sank near Coche Island. Some pieces were salvaged and, today, most of them are in the Navy Museum in Puerto Cabello. Here we have the first underwater camera -the "Calypso"-, which belonged to Captain Cousteau and was used in Venezuela, as well as other items used by the divers who carried out the expeditions under the supervision of the Venezuelan Navy. The diaries, notes and items shown were donated by the family of Mr. Rodríguez del Villar.
- Here we have collections of the mollusks and corals that inhabit the waters around Coche Island.
- An interesting photograph of the port of Porlamar shows what it was like in 1941 or thereabouts.
- There is a mariner's compass, an instrument that has a magnetic needle inside mounted on gimbals so as to keep it level during the pitching and swaying of the vessel.
- A figure of the Virgen del Valle, the patron saint of the Eastern Region of Venezuela and the Venezuelan Navy protects the exhibition hall, everyone who works at the Museum and all its visitors.
